The King’s Hall Trust for the Arts (“KHTA”) can offer advice and support to your company in the development and delivery of your production. Background information about some of the trustees of KHTA is listed below – please feel free to get in touch if you think that they might be able to help!
Alex Clifton left Oxford in 2001 with a first in English from Wadham, and having established the OUDS Education and Access Department and been OUDS President. He is now Artistic Director of Pursued by a Bear Theatre Company. He has directed shows for ENO Bayliss, RADA, Theatre 503 and worked at The National Theatre Studio, The Young Vic, and for two years as staff director at ENO. Pbab has produced 16 new plays by writers from marginalized and minority communities since 1998, touring the UK with this work.
Alex can offer specific dramaturgical advice to writers and directors about a script; support producers in writing and managing successful budgets; advise actors considering auditioning for drama schools or occasionally who have specific questions about a role.

Paul Burgess graduated from Oxford in 1996, after which he worked in theatre in education in Oxfordshire and in the costume department at Shakespeare’s Globe. In 1999 – 2000 he trained at Motley School of Theatre Design and has since designed sets, costumes and/or video projections for venues in the UK and abroad, including Soho Theatre, Theatre 503, Shakespeare’s Globe, WUK (Vienna), La Tea and Here (both NYC) as well as various touring shows. Film projects include making five short films and documentary in Ghana. He works extensively in experimental theatre and art as a director, designer, installation and video artist and animateur, and has developed new work and collaborative projects across the UK and in Novosibirsk, Siberia. He is also involved in projects with young people and works as a specialist in design, video and music technology for Youth CREATE in Hertfordshire, where he has also led a series of video projects for disaffected teenagers.

Rikesh Shah was involved in various stage management and production roles between 1993 and 1998 both whilst at Oxford and also at the Edinburgh Fringe. After training as a chartered accountant, Rikesh spent 6 years as Director of Finance & Administration for Somerset House in London and was involved in managing the finances and administration for performing and visual arts projects.
As well as being a trustee of KHTA, Rikesh is Treasurer for engage (www.engage.org.uk) and involved in a number of other arts and charitable organisations of varying sizes.
Rikesh has expertise in all aspects of finance issues facing arts organisations including budgeting and cash flow management. He also has wide experience of strategic planning, insurance matters, company and charity law, and various employment issues.
